One part of my job that I really enjoy is when I get to meet with our neighbors.
People are naturally curious about the process of making cement, and eager to learn more. Unfortunately, not everyone can squeeze in time for a visit to our facility and take a tour. So, we decided to put together videos that “show” rather than “tell” you how things work at the Ravena plant.
A few people I met wanted to learn more about the steps we take to manage dust at the cement plant. We put together this video to highlight some of the steps we take every day. I hope you find it informative.

We love when people come to visit the Ravena plant for a tour. And we love the reactions we get once people see the size of the equipment we use to make cement.
The one item in particular that captures the attention of most people is our real life Tonka-like trucks that operate in our quarry.
The most common reaction we get is, “that’s big!”
And they are.
These massive, 17-foot trucks can hold about 100 tons of limestone rock and yet, they can practically stop on a dime.
We put together this chart together to help our visitors and readers answer the question: how big is “big?”
