Does your local school know about Lafarge Ravena’s Environmental and Safety Scholars Grant Program?

I hope so.

It’s a great opportunity that reflects our commitment to safety and the community, through the promotion of environmental and safety awareness programs in area schools.

The grant program encourages students, teachers, administrators, and other members of the school community to develop ideas that help improve the environment or safety of the school.

A panel made up of members from the community evaluates each project proposal based on technical and educational merits and awards up to $1,000 to fund the winning project(s). Specifically, the panel looks for projects that have clear objectives, positive results and easy to replicate, practical steps that other schools or organizations can adopt.

Last year, the Green Club at Clarksville Elementary School in Bethlehem received a $1,000 grant to launch a school-wide composting program.
